A grateful heart and a full stomach
...and the company of good friends. Don't you just love Christmastime? *happy dreamy smile*
Shopping for Christmas prezzies for my housemates this year really served to prove what I've always believed - that giving often brings greater joy than receiving does. (= I'm not saying I didn't like the gifts I got, you guys - I loved each and every one, and, more than the gift itself - the thought behind it. (= I've not bought as many toys and kiddy gifts at any one time than I did last week at the Disney store - the Incredibles juggling balls, Tigger bedroom slippers, Power Rangers cup and straw, Tinkerbell and Nemo 'magic towels' which expand to become 30cmX30cm towels when soaked in water, a The Incredibles yo-yo that makes really poyo robotic sounds and has blinking lights... Mel bought a magnetic darts set for Alan and Alan bought Lance a finger football game thingy and Chong Ka a set of giant playing cards.... Just imagine the scene: five 20-odd year old people sitting around the Christmas tree, squealing with glee and laughing at one another's gifts! Oooh oooh let me tell you what I got for Christmas this year! (= A really really cool Weather Station electronic gadget which tells the indoor temperature, outdoor temperature, humidity, predominant weather and time, a hanging lemur plush toy which I've named Chu Cheong Fun because of its long limbs, chocolates chocolates and more chocolates, earrings, a lovely green scarf, a lamb soft toy to replace Mutton, a Snowman soft toy all the way from Germany, a Swarovski necklace and pendant and last but not least a very charming hand-made photo scrapbook with photos and captions (almost indisputably my favourite of the lot)! May is one very very happy girl. (=
One big happy family-away-from-home
Lance opening his first Christmas gift of the night
Chong Ka: "Juggling balls?? You got me juggling balls??"
The Tigger bedroom slippers I bought for Lance
"An Auspicious Moment" (captions by Alan.. hahaha)
My long-limbed, lanky lemur from Lan-Lan
See??!! I'm not the ONLY gedik person in the household!
Lance: Wahlau now I can finally gain my super saya powers and fight off Godzilla with my Zangetsu and my new Cloud Strife hair! I'm gay!
Alan: Fui-yo, yo-yo!
Our very own Christmas roast dinner
A close-up of all the yummy food! Clockwise from top left: Alan's mashed potatoes, Wui Seng's Jamie Oliver roast chicken stuffed with cous-cous, Melissa's salad, er... Sainsbury's cranberry and hazelnut turkey stuffing (don't ask!), and my roast turkey!
L-R: Wen Kiat, Chong Ka, er-unnamed friend of Wen Kiat's, Wui Seng, Melissa, me, Alan
Wui Seng: "I like MY boobs and I cannot lie!"
