Bored and boring me
*sigh* Feeling restless today. I am now going to write a long and very boring and whiny and self-indulgent blogpost which you will SO totally not be interested in reading; don't say I didn't warn you.
I think the tedium of being at home in Bentong, with practically nothing to do but read and go online (tv has lost its charm, for some reason), is finally getting to me. I expected this to happen, but not as early as within the fourth week of my return to Malaysia! Am counting the days to the much-awaited Koh Samui trip - now if THAT doesn't break my long spell of boredom, then I don't know what will. Oh, and the guys and Mel will be coming to Bentong for a day-trip tomorrow if all goes well. =) Well, something to look forward to, no matter how small, is always looked forward to.
*yawn*
I stand here before You in wide open wonder amayzed at the glory of You the power of heaven revealing Your purpose in me as I'm reaching for You
I would bury my nose in a book but right now I'm reading Soul Mountain and it's the kind of book which I can't read too much of at one go, it gets a little overwhelming. Have to enjoy it bit by bit, chapter by chapter. The prose is indeed beautiful, but I shall not pretend to understand and appreciate the stories and folklore completely. Am tempted to 'two-time' Gao Xingjian and pick up my last unread book An Ocean in Iowa but I'm afraid that if I do that, I might end up abandoning the former altogether. I have also made a list of books I want to buy:
The Things They Carried by Tim O'Brien
The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho
Buying a Fishing Rod for My Grandfather by Gao Xingjian
The Color Purple by Alice Walker
I want to go shopping! The Isetan members-only sales will be on for two days this weekend, I really need to go!
And I breathe in Your breath of life that fills my heart You are my all-consuming fire
What else what else. Ah yes. Recently Wesley commented that I have a 'posh exterior'. Or at least that was his first impression of me. Upon further interrogation from a bewildered and amused me, he said what he meant was that I look 'clean and well-to-do'. And guys could be intimidated by that. Like, WHAT???
My father is on my case to call up Dell regarding my broken CD-rom. I don't know why I'm so reluctant and lazy to do so, maybe it's because I can't bear to live without my laptop if it's to be sent in for repair at the factory. Which could possibly take weeks and weeks.
See, I told you it would be a boring post.
