Sheffield and Peak District in pictures

*sigh*
They say all good things come to an end. After a most blissful week in Sheffield with Jan, now it's back to the people-infested car-infested and dull old London that I don't really miss that much. Having fallen in love with Sheffield and its quirky-quaint-gothic charm, London has lost a bit of its attraction. Furthermore I'm not looking forward to the next two weeks, where I've promised myself that I'm gonna settle down and study till it's time to go to Italy. I should stop complaining.
Last week was truly enjoyable.... most of our time was spent cooking, eating, walking around the city, window-shopping, watching movies on Jan's Apple (and falling asleep halfway through the movies!)... exactly how a laidback, lepak holiday is meant to be. Especially if its spent with the one closest to your heart. *blush* Spring was lovely, especially in Peak District... I noticed that the flowers are mostly yellow or purple. Oh and I just found out from Ning that those yellow flowers that keep appearing in my photos are called daffodils. Jan loves to kick them, I don't know why. =P
Only two exciting, 'stimulating' things happened in my one week there. One, was getting locked out of Jan's hall coz he forgot to bring his swipe card along when we went to the hall office. We were locked out in the cold for about 15 minutes, waiting to no avail for someone, ANYONE to come home.. but of course, it was Easter and there weren't many people left in halls. Thankfully, when we were almost at our wits' end, a nice girl on the 2nd floor actually responded to our buzz and came downstairs to let us in. Or we'd have to suffer a scolding from the warden for once again leaving the room without the swipe card. The second exciting thing was when we took out the garbage (was it in the U.S. or in the U.K. that they say 'trash'?) and the plastic bag got ripped apart mid-air as Jan was hurling it into the big garbage thingy. The result: an assortment of cooked, half-cooked, uncooked, rotting food all over the floor - not a very nice sight, nor smell. Well, nothing we could do about it, so we just took to our heels as if we were two delinquent kids who just nipped something from 7 Eleven. Heh.
I miss you so much Jan. Wish I was there with you right now. =(
Well, gotta go and cook myself up some lunch now. Happy Easter to everyone!
